Buffyverse Spreading the Love Meme

Look Ma, I gacked my first meme! (There's one for the old baby book, huh?) alwaysjbj created this meme as a way to introduce members of her flist to writers/artists in the BtVS fandom whose work might be new to them. Since I'm still a relative newbie and faced with a summer full of fic-reading opportunities, I was hoping it might help expand my summer reading list.  Here's how it goes:

Copy this post into your journal (making sure to allow anonymous comments). People will then comment ANONYMOUSLY with the name of someone on their flist that they think others might enjoy reading... be it for their interesting meta posts, fabulous art-work, wonderful stories or just because they are an interesting person who they think others might benefit from knowing. (You can give the reasons WHY you think we should read this person's journal, or just post their name--whichever you feel more comfortable with.) It's probably best not to pick someone whose entire journal is locked because there wouldn't be any point if there weren't any public posts for people to read.

Other members of your flist then copy this into their journal giving you the chance to continue spreading the love by recommending people to them!

* Make sure your recs are done anonymously; this is to reduce any potential hurt feelings for other members of your flist.

* Rec BtVS or AtS people only, please. I am sure we all have fabulous people on our flists who are heavily into Firefly, or Lost or some other fandom, but this is all about getting members of the Buffyverse fandom in touch with each other.

* If you want to rec more than one person, that’s great, but please do each person in a separate anonymous comment.

That's it. Start spreading the love! :D

ETA that while I read a lot of Spuffy, I find that Spike is like a gateway drug; there are a lot of different pairings I can read if Spike's in there somewhere. Slashy goodness is okay by me.

Tea at the Ford (http://www.teaattheford.net/outline.php) is a fabulous resource for meta, artwork, fiction - you name it. It's a must visit for anyone into the Buffyverse.

All About Spike (http://www.allaboutspike.com/), has been closed to new stories for a number of years but if you're looking for classic tales by some of the best authors in the Verse - then head over and read.

One of the first writers I really fell in love with is talesofspike. She has an epic called Spike's Will Be Done (http://www.he-s-no-angel.net/) that's still one of my all-time favorite Spuffy stories. She's created a very well imagined world; Clem and his family are major characters, and Buffy and Spike have neighbors and coworkers. Dawn has friends. I really love it!

goldenusagi has a fic that I've been following with interest called Sideways. Spuffy with a Spike that's powerfully sexy and moments that have made me go, "Wow!"

Spuffy's my ship, but I'm an equal-opportunity pervert. I have Lindsey and Riley issues, but other than that, bring it! I probably should have said that in my post! *squishes* You're so sweet for asking.

Check out scribesds wonderful archive Scribes of Angel (http://scribes.darkstarfic.com/)- a huge archive with Angel-centric fic. (Angel with lots of other people. *g*)
All the stories are hand-picked and it's updated regularly- one of the few archives still really active.

If you are looking for wonderful writing, and terrific Spike characterization check out romanyg. She doesn't actively write in the Jossverse (although I think she has some stuff in the works) but what she does have is excellent. She has an archive here (http://octavesoftheheart.com/romany/)
