Threefold Birthday Greetings!

Today is the birthday of molly_may, mistress of meta, and penny_lane_42, writer of some of the most hauntingly lovely Spuffy fic I've ever read. Since I missed the way talented and graphically prolific easy_to_corrupt's New Year's Eve birthday, I thought that I would throw a little joint journal party. Towards that end, I gathered up my Spike dolls and got to work. Three birthday girls, three vamps. Piece of cake, right?

Okay, in their defense, SchoolHard!Spike and AtS!Spike aren't quite the hardened seasoned photo shoot veterans that Doll!Spike has become. (Also, Doll!Spike's come-on is kinda' lame. You didn't hear it from me!) No big. *nervous giggle* We'll just take a little break and see what we can do to make them more comfortable with the process.

Okay, I was trying to be patient, but there are limits.

Turns out that AtS!Spike is trying to make a 5:00 p.m. showing of Tale of Despereaux with AtS!Angel. *eyeroll* Says it's their two-month anniversary or something. Whatever! *yells* Aw geez, would someone please go to craft services and get SchoolHard!Spike some more cooking sherry? Shut him up, people!

Um, I have to apologize for my completely inappropriate outburst. When the talent's not happy, I'm not happy. Unfortunately, Doll!Spike picked up on my bad example and ran with it all the way to the prop case, where he found SchoolHard!Spike's fire axe. What can I say? He's a take-charge kind of guy, and one with whom I'm not really inclined to argue right now.

Aww, there's the little plastic poet I know and love!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOLLY MAY, LIRAZEL, AND AMANDA!!! Hope your special day(s) are/were wonderful, and may the coming year bring you joy. :D

Hahaha! You are so great! What a great birthday present--I laughed so much! Nothing could possibly be better than a birthday wish from Spike(s).

Also, you are too sweet: I'm so glad you enjoy my writing. It means a lot to me to know you do.

Also-also, I totally have that Eiffel Tower lamp. It makes me happy.

Aw, I'm glad I could amuse. Hope you're having a great birthday! I'm so excited to see that you've posted new fic. *whispers* I'm saving it for tomorrow when everyone's out of my hair. Go back to skooool!

Hee! I love my Eiffel Tower lamp. Everyone should have one! *looks down at Parisian Poodle pjs* Although I'm starting to suspect that maybe Target has a secret French agenda. ;)

I'm saving it for tomorrow when everyone's out of my hair. Go back to skooool! That made me laugh a lot.

So what you're saying is...that France is using Target in its plans for world domination? I knew Target was too good to be true!
Jan. 5th, 2009 01:41 am (UTC)
Srsly, I love my family, but we've been in each other's personal space 24/7 for over two weeks. The togetherness must end! I've started hiding in the laundry room and eating chocolate, which is never a good sign.

Yes! I know the French, and believe you me, they're coming for our hearts and minds. And they're not above using retail to get them! ;)

I know what you mean. We've had various family members and friends staying here on and off all through break and occasionally my mama and I would look at each other and we would both think, "Can we have our house back now please?" It doesn't matter how much we loved them--we needed our space book.

If Target is their weapon of choice, I'll gladly be taken over by them!

You are a genius and I love you to bits!

I may stop giggling before bedtime, but I have my doubts.
Jan. 5th, 2009 12:00 am (UTC)
Thank you! *smooshes you* Same right back atcha! :D

Oh, I'm relieved to hear that it's giggle-worthy. My confidence flagged a little after one of the cats crashed the set and tore down the birthday banner. Furry little hooligan!

*points* Aww, we're hug icon twins! :)

You're very welcome, and sorry that I'm so late! I hope you had a fabulous day.

You get more drama out of those little guys than seems plastickly possible!
Jan. 5th, 2009 01:50 am (UTC)
I swear, the Spike doll in the wife-beater is ridiculously expressive for a hunk of plastic. I'll winnow through the pics I've taken, and in most of them, he just looks like a toy. Then I'll find one of him looking right at the camera or leering like he means it. *whispers* I keep them locked in their little trunk now between shoots, just in case they turn on me per Philips' predictions.

It's some kind of testament to JM's acting ability, I think. It's somehow channeled into those dolls!
Jan. 5th, 2009 02:16 am (UTC)
Ha! Perhaps so!

Also, when you think about it, JM has such sharp, angular features that they're probably ideal for translation into the action figure medium. Srsly, I've seen Angel dolls that look more like gorillas than poor DB.
Jan. 5th, 2009 12:37 am (UTC)
OMG! What a monster! He cut off wee little SchoolHard!Spike's arms. It's a massacre. Ah!! Perhaps Angel can nurse the disfigured boys back to health?

Another rousing edition of weekend edition doll!fic. You are also quite the photographer, always getting fun angles. Thanks for this!

I tell ya, he's got a nasty temper and a low tolerance for prima donnas. I think I'm going to have to separate him from the limbless dolls for a while until he cools down a little.

Thanks so much, sweetie! *sheepish* I should probably get out my camera manual some time and figure out what I'm actually supposed to do with it! Right now, I just take a bamillion pics and then weed it down to something I like. Thank heavens for the digital age. ;)
Jan. 5th, 2009 12:51 am (UTC)
He chopped up his little plastic pals! Bad Spike! No Buffy for you!
Jan. 5th, 2009 01:58 am (UTC)
I forget sometimes that he's a tiny plastic psychopath. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. *sigh* I may have to separate him from the dis-armed dolls for a while until he chills out.
Jan. 5th, 2009 01:40 am (UTC)
::applauds madly:: Thank you Mere -- and Spike of course -- for the birthday wishes! It's not wrong to find Take Charge Spike kind of hot, right? Although, there does seem to be quite a bit of carnage in that last scene. I'm sorry two Spikes had to be dismembered just so I could get a proper birthday greeting, but it's their own fault for not behaving.
Jan. 5th, 2009 02:07 am (UTC)
Your icon is killing me. *cackles* Saucy vamp!

You're very welcome! I hope the day has been treating you well. *lol* Oh, I love me some Take Charge Spike, too. I couldn't even find it in my heart to chastise him for the plastic massacre. *whispers* Besides, it's so much easier when I only have to deal with him. The other two are terrible whiners!

Jan. 5th, 2009 02:08 am (UTC)
Haw! ;)
Jan. 5th, 2009 01:58 am (UTC)
I cannot believe you managed to work in a crafts services joke. You're my hero.
Jan. 5th, 2009 02:12 am (UTC)
Heh-heh. Will it undermine my hero cred if I tell you that my staff consists of cats? Not only did I not get the cooking sherry that I requested, but Tiny Buckaroo waded into the set and tore down the birthday banner. Man. Between that and Louise's bread massacre, I'm prepared to say that they just don't make companion animals like they used to. ;)
Jan. 5th, 2009 03:21 am (UTC)
So fun! Poor Doll!Spike has to do everything...
Jan. 5th, 2009 05:29 pm (UTC)
Hee! It's true. I'm just not assertive enough to deal with so much bad vampire attitude at one time. His methods are a little, um, direct, but they get the job done. ;)
Jan. 5th, 2009 08:48 am (UTC)
It's late, so I'm gonna stop at: Tales of Despereaux! *snerk*
Jan. 5th, 2009 05:32 pm (UTC)
Heh-heh. It seemed like just the sort of secret, shameful thing that Angel would want to see. ;)

Jan. 5th, 2009 10:42 am (UTC)
Oh Dear Lord! There are arms! Arms of Spike! everywhere in this shoot! I guess Doll!Spike did what he had to in order to get control.

Bwah ha ha! You are so funny lady!

I love how the candles fit so perfectly in their little hands, just like the axe and flask :)

School Hard Spike was adorable holding the candle at first!
Jan. 5th, 2009 05:36 pm (UTC)
*nods* Order has to be maintained, and it's not always pretty.

Hee! Thanks, sweetie. You wouldn't believe how much candle wax I've had to clean off of these poor little guys over the past months. I was telling the mister yesterday that I'd better keep and eye out for more black and white candles (I just happened to find those in the cupboard), because I'm going to run out soon.

I love School Hard Spike's expressions. He seems just little snarkier than the other two.

Happy Monday! Heh.
