Woke up this morning with six new haiku from "Lovers Walk."  I'm only posting the first half today; they're so tiny and ill-mannered that I'm worried they'll trample each other if I let them all out at once.

Car door flies open.
Pickled vampire tumbles out,
grins. Love’s bitch is back.

Great Poof's reading Sartre,
Dru’s shaggin' Slime ‘n’Antlers--
arrrgggh! It's just too much.

Smells lovely, does Red—
fear laced with awful power.
Just a little taste. . .

"Pickled vampire" is now my favorite Spike description. Love love love all three but the first is just wonderful.

Bwahaa! Your icon!

Do you think I could get away with taking pickled vampire to Thanksgiving instead of those horrible spiced peaches that no one ever eats?

Thank you so much--glad you liked them. :D

Particularly like the third one.

Great minds! :D

Thank you!

As much fun as that episode is, the scene with Willow still makes me nervous--there's some really ugly stuff there. If it had been a season or two later, she probably would have turned him into a cockroach or something.

Hee! I love all three, but the last just caught me.

fear laced with awful power.

Love that line!

Aw, thanks. That one went felt really clunky until I found that line. I'm glad you liked it!

pickled vampire indeed! Hee! fear laced with awful power.
Yes, that's a great description of Willow coming into her own.

These are always so great!

Yay! Thank you! :D

My husband thought that all of them should contain "pickled vampire" as a testament to the fact that Spike almost manages to stay drunk throughout the entire episode.

Hee! Wonderful! (Sartre rhymed with antlers = priceless!!!)

Thank you for reading!

Heh. It's probably cheating to use "Sartre" as a one-syllable word, but that's how we end up saying it in the South anyway. (Sart instead of Sart(ruh). Sorry, French-speakers--we mangle your language but mean no harm. :)

Fabulous and as usual you present such a precise glimpse.

#1 made me grin. [pickled vampire, indeed]
#2 Angel at his most boring
#3 full of foreboding.

Eager for the next three.

Thanks, Louise!

I laughed so hard the first time I noticed that Angel was reading "Le Nausea" that I had to pause the DVD for a good 3-4 minutes before I could get the giggles back under control. It's just SO him--big broody weirdo! :)

ETA: And you commented in haiku! I love it! (Geez, I'm slow today. . .)

"fear laced with awful power"

What a great line! I love these little poems. They pack so much into a small space they really call up the reactions I had when I watched the shows.

Thanks so much! It's really been fun working on them. I started watching BtVS this time last year and was sucked into a void have seen the whole series three times in a row now (memo to self: try to watch something else!), so my initial reactions are still pretty close to the surface. I'm happy to hear that at least a little of that comes through.
